Why is it cats always wanna test you?
What primevil hormone tells them, ‘I must best you’?
From the right and the left they come,
They let up not ’til their job be done.
But I am no triffle, no game of jest,
So when you come, you have need come with your best.
I will throw them up with lightning, cast them down with thunder;
As to how they lost, off they go to ponder.
Over mountains high and valley filled with dew, it is as it’s always been, when cats come to test you.

Now, I like that! Especially these lines:
“But I am no triffle, no game of jest,
So when you come, you have need come with your best.”
Right on! Nice flow sound in the poem. I like the attitude and truth within it too.

Salaams and thanks.
I wrote this after a friend and I went to play a pick-up game up basketball and we played against this group of guys who were all hot air. They were big talk until the ball started bouncing. So I wrote them a little poem! Thanks.
