Open Mic At The Weary Traveler

The Weary Traveler, in Madison, Wisconsin, used to be a hang out of mine of sorts. On a rotating basis, they’d have an open mic session where locals would come up and play. I happened to be around [camera always handy] to shoot this one. I don’t even remember this kid’s name. Canon 10D, 800 ISO. Hand-held. Available light.

Wow. That’s wonderful. I like how nobody seems to be looking at the performer.

  2. Marc Says:

Thanks, Tom. Yeah, if I remember, most people that night seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than listening to the music. In fact, it seemed to be that way most of the time there. Sort of amusing I guess as long as you’re not the musician in question!

I like this photo. I like how the crowd is low key in the photo, concentrating on the performer. Nice work.

  4. M. Shahin Says:

Moody atmosphere that goes well with the subject. He looks pretty alone but content at the same time. I like how the light is right on him, getting darker outward. Nice work!
