Philly Shots - Low-Fi Shots V

Today was a quintessential fall day. Crips light and hard shadows during the daylight hours and warm, enveloping light at sundown. Shot these while grocery shopping. Cell phone shots again. Enjoy.

Nice shots! I like the juxtaposition of new and old architecture with the Cira Center and 30th Street station.

I like the photo taken of the Amtrak station and the ivy of course. The Tree and Lights looked very eerie at first but after looking at it for a while I got use to it, although it still stands out.

Salaams and thanks to all. I’m slowly gaining more respect for my lowly 1.3 megapixel camera phone. It’s almost like a Holga (although, a plastic Holga costs $20 and my camera phone’s like $300+!). I agree that the Trees and Lights looks spooky - I thought so too at first. I did an initial shot with some camera shake to make it blur but prefered the latter.

  4. M. Shahin Says:

You actually shook the camera while taking the picture? That is very interesting. I’m guess this can only be done on certain cameras? And this shaking would create a blur effect. I really have to start being more innovative with the camera.

  5. Marqas Says:

There’s a fine line between, “I shook the camera on accident and the image just looks clumsy” and “I shook the camera for artistic intent“. Or at least that’s what I think.

    Salaams,

Thanks for the information. I think it is really amazing what can be done with a camera.

    Wa Salaam
