Manrilla Podcast - Race and Religion
July 29, 2006 | 04 Rajab 1427
Earlier this year I was asked to participate in a project by a group of grad students from Hunter College in NYC. It was a spiritual biography of sorts. It traced lines along religion and race. The final project has yet to be published but an excerpt is now available for listening. So take a few moments to download the first in a series of podcasts forthcoming from the Manrilla Blog. It’s approximately 14 minutes in length [25MB]. Enjoy.

I feel privileged to be the first to comment on this recording. Your mannerisms in your language and your vocal tone have changed from what I remember of you two years ago. I am happy for your perspective . . . because it forces me to reflect upon my own. How can the multiple voices be heard? What is Muslim identity in Western American Society? You are having an impact with your blog. With continued diligence your message will reach farther and continue to influence in positive ways. My own faith search at a young age modeled closely to your own, though my path lead to Islam, it continued past it. My journey has been slowed to believe life is absurd. I appreciate your faith and look forward to your future podcasts. (The recording quality was excellent.)
