SEPTA Strike A Real Drag

When I was applying for this position at UPenn, I hadn’t really considered not taking the subway. I just assumed that’s how I’d get around. It’s convenient (although I do wish it’d run later), but not cheap. But now with SEPTA on strike, getting around is slow business these days. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy walking. The weather yesterday was perfect for a long walk. But it doesn’t leave you much leeway if you’re running late. I hope they can resolve this before too long.
My cab ride this morning was kinda obnoxious. The cabbie was okay - talked a little too much. That may sound funny coming from me, as I can be chaty as well. I also drove a cab but sometimes it’s nice to have a little silence as you start your day. It’s never really silent in a city anyways so just let the hum of city life wake you up. Not some dude’s chatter box (his jokes were really bad but I did receive a fairly interesting histroy/geography lesson; appearantly Belize is right in between Mexico and Argentina. Also learned how the indigenous indians of the Carribean were whiped out).
