I Am So Tired Right Now
July 22, 2005 | 16 Jumada al-Thanni 1426

I am so damned tired right now. All I wanna do is find my pillow and fade to black. I spent all day working on this one Web site. Getting it ready to launch. I hope tomorrow I can finish the last few touches and then I’m done. Here’s an image I created a few weeks back just before leaving Madison. I hope when Adem comes out with a CD maybe we can find a use of some of the images we shot that day. Well, I’m ghosting. I will comment more on the London Bombings from today sometime tomorrow.

Scotty Got Beamed Up
July 20, 2005 | 14 Jumada al-Thanni 1426

Today is a sad day indeed. James Doohan, who played the loveable Scotsman on Star Trek died today at the age of 85. I remember watching syndicated episodes of Star Trek when I was just a kid. Star Trek has become so iconic to our culture here in America. Heck, when we think of Scotland or a Scottish accent, we think of Scotty. And though his health deteriorated over the years, Doohan did receive his star on the Walk of Fame. Sadly, in his own words, the ship couldn’t take it anymore Scotty Audio Clip. Good-bye, Mr.Scott/Mr.Doohan. You provided me with 32 years of wonder and entertainment. To think beyond this rock and aspire for the stars. We hope to meet you again when we’re “all beamed up”.

First, We Draw Them Out Into the Open…
July 20, 2005 | 14 Jumada al-Thanni 1426

It seems as if my nefarious plan to attack the Salafis is working just as I had foreseen (dry washes hands and rolls eyes side to side). One blogger left some interesting comments. Check those out and then see the crafty reply by yours truly. Ha! That’ll learn ‘em!

Books Are the Root of All Evil
July 17, 2005 | 11 Jumada al-Thanni 1426

Well, I hope none of you plan to check out any books from the library these days. It seems that in response to the London Bombings, three Senate committees have passed hasty resolutions extending the power of the FBI to obtain library records without a subpoema. This done so under the Patriot Act. You know, I feel much, much safer knowing that the next sleeper cell or suicide bomber won’t be able to go to the library to check out books on bomb manufacuring (Bombs For Dummies?). This country continues to reach all-time high levels of stupidity. These folks are brilliant at playing the harp stings of the very gullible American public. It allows them to take the moral high ground - as if they’re the ones really championing something great and noble. Greg Palast writes, “What I want to know is, who at the FBI is poring over my choice of novels, how much do we pay this guy and why isn’t he reviewing Swiss and Pakistani bank transfer records instead?”. For more sad yet funny commentary check out www.gregpalast.com.

The Passage of Time
July 17, 2005 | 11 Jumada al-Thanni 1426

It’s amazing how fast time flies. Here we are, in the middle of July and I feel like I’m still catching up to May. I find it hard to believe that I left Madison just a little over a week ago. It seems like that place is a lifetime away. It’s not change per se, in the sense that it’s something new. More like returning to an old way of being. And yet I miss my friends from there everyday. Pete. Julia. JW. Nick, who became a real friend in need. Käri – I’m sorry we didn’t have more time to do things together. We have so much in common. They are the part of my life I feel is out of place right now. But I am glad that I left. I feel good about my decision to come to Philadelphia. Imam Luqman is a good man. I feel we may have some good things we can do together. It’s good to be here with my brothers as well. It’s never been easy for the three of us to get along like the Partridge Family but perhaps we can grow closer – get to know one another better. I look forward to what Philadelphia has in store for me and what I have in store for myself, as I try to take more control of my life at this juncture. We shall have to wait and see.
