Boxing My Life Away
June 21, 2004 | 03 Jumada al-Ula 1425

I spent most of Saturday boxing stuff up and throwing crap out. The nice thing about living in a student-populated area is that if you set anything out on the curb, someone’ll take it within an hour or so. I hope to have everything cleaned up shortly.

Sunday with the Davises
June 21, 2004 | 03 Jumada al-Ula 1425

JW and Terry treated me to pizza this Sunday. Oh, for that matter, so did Coleman. We chilled and watched a short film on Illinois Jaquette. It’s things like this that remind me that coming to Wisconsin was not a waste of time in my life. I met some great people here in Madison. People I will still keep as good friends long after I’m gone.

Things I Won’t Miss About Edgewood
June 21, 2004 | 03 Jumada al-Ula 1425

Working at 7:30 in the morning.
Staff meetings.
Trying to convert Walt to the Mac.
Fixing something that’s broken.
Having to work on my crapp-arse Dell which freezes up every time I look at it.
Baby sitting spoiled-arse rich kids.
Phil’s cafeteria (sorry, man. Just too much mayo and butter).
Firing the replacement for the replacement I got fired way, way back.

Things I’ll Miss About Edgewood
June 21, 2004 | 03 Jumada al-Ula 1425

My crew in at the Help Desk.
Chatting with JW about jazz.
Fixing something that’s broken.
Bossing around work studies who really don’t listen to me anyways.
Hour-long lunch breaks with Zang and Nyasha at Yes Buffet.
Watching Jack snooze at the front desk early in the morning.
Giving Charles advice two times over which he won’t listen to.
Having a really cool Mac to do all of my work on but not actually having to pay for it.
Going to Taj with María and getting free stuff.
Laughing with Pat about stupid stuff.
Making Tom’s life more difficult.
Taking pictures of Lisa’s dogs (she is small for a lab).
Watching JBE “play the drums”.
Getting punched in the arm by Linda.
Trying to convert Walt to the Mac.
Saying good morning to Nancy.
Talking about Africa with Monica.
Signing Sureepong and Nok’s time sheets.
Wrestling with Nyasha.
Correcting Eddie’s papers.
Sharing a cigar with Devin (Yes, baby. I had a cigar at work. Once.).
Helping Holly with her mom’s brochures.
Having the high honor of sharing an office with the Dalai Lama of CIS, Zang (It was a pleasure, your Holiness).
And last but not least, providing myself with hours and hours of self-entertainment.
