Nothin’ Wears Ya Down Quite Like the Holidays
December 26, 2003 | 03 Dhul-Qadah 1424

I have felt beaten and pummeled all day today. A week off of work and here I am almost more tired than before I left. Well, it was all done having a good time. I have enjoyed seeing my brothers, Mike and Dave. Also a big “wha’ssup” to Scott. Also thanks to Vaña and Alix (I hope to see you guys again soon). Chuck!, maybe next time we’ll get a chance to sit and talk some more. Funny how fast a week can go. I enjoyed shooting Manayunk yesterday. I hope to come back again and shoot more extensively. Well, until next time.

Gracias, Doña Marí for the wonderful food. A good time was had by all last night, feasting at the Taylor’s. I hope we can do it again sometime.

The land of Philth
December 23, 2003 | 29 Shawwal 1424

O’ Lord!, is it ever nice to not be at work. First day that I’ve slept in since Thanksgiving. Even though I haven’t gotten into a whole lot yet I’ve just been enjoying hangin’ around the house watchin’ movies. Had my first cheese steak from J.T.’s (very, very good). Well, until there’s some more to say…

White Samurai, Birthday Parties, Chili and Snow Storms
December 10, 2003 | 16 Shawwal 1424

The chili for the birthday partyAll of the above apply to the last few days. Rebeca, Mauricio and myself went to see The Last Samurai, with Tom Cruise. It was a perfect Hollywood movie where all the Japanese people die in the movie and the “white man” becomes a samurai, achieves enlightenment and redeems himself despite that fact that he butchered hundreds of American Indians (let’s just blur over that part). I will give it B for a good soundtrack and cinematography.

Happy Birthday Rebeca & Terese!! Yep, Rebe’s 23 and Terese, 22. We had fun hangin’ with Pat, Charles, Will, Will & Krista, Bridgett, Dez & Erika and María. Sorry to everyone who couldn’t make it for dinner and that we couldn’t make it for karaoke, but Rebe was feeling under the weather with something like the flu.

And yes, it’s freakin’ snowing like hell outside. I can’t wait to drive to Chicago at 1 in the mornin’.

Genie Habits, Stalkers and Not-So-Spicy-As-I-Would-Have-Liked-It Chinese Food
December 05, 2003 | 11 Shawwal 1424

I hope you’re following me on this one. I had heard of a drinking habit but not of a genie habit. Appearantly, that’s when someone can’t stop walking up to random objects and making wishes. And what happened to spicy food? I ordered my Hunan Shrimp medium-spicy because I have a head cold and they gave it to me luke warm. What in the hell is the world coming to? Well, at the least it looks like I’ll be flying out to Philly over the winter break to visit my brothers. Ah, now I could really go for one of J.T.’s cheesesteaks.

Almost Over
December 01, 2003 | 07 Shawwal 1424

Yep, the year’s nearly done for. Frost is in the air and it feels like death outside. Well, okay, perhaps that’s a little mellow dramatic just to say winter’s here but that’s how we like it here. Mellow and dramatic. Anyway, moving on. The “Picture-A-Day Project” is coming along nicely, moving into its 5th week with no end in sight. I’ll post the last part of week 4 and the first part of week 5 soon. I hope everyone had an enjoyable break and ate more than was good. I hope that December bodes well and brings a lot of fun.
