Rising to the challenge
Professional art, if one can say such a thing, can be a diffucult road to tread. There are many obstacles along the way, not the least of which is inspiration to continue the journey. It is because of this, this writer’s block as it were, that has been my biggest challege. When one has a stream of work coming in it’s easy to get lost in the job of solving someone else’s problems; creating someone else’s images. But what about creation for yourself? I have given myself the ominous task of creating at least one image a day for the next year to boast my creative juices and to remember why it is that I shoot: For my own pleasure. For this assignment I will use mostly a simple point-and-shoot digital camera as well as my other professional cameras here and there. The reason is to not get caught up in the technicalities of photography: What lens is the sharpest? What lighting technique to use? No, rather this is to go back to the essentials of seeing agian. Capturing the image. So, I hope you’ll take a few moments to browse through the gallery which will be updated frequently. Lord only knows if I can carry through with this one.
